DUKE’S MILL CREEK SURVEY

As part of the Devon Coastal and Floodplain Grazing Marsh project, funded by the Environment Agency, The Devon Wildlife Trust completed a survey of Duke’s Mill Creek (aka Weredown Marsh) in 2009.   A copy of the report has now kindly been made available for the perusal of ACA members by clicking here – Duke’s Mill Creek survey.  The management suggestions include a recommendation that a practice of non-intervention be continued for the foreseeable future.  Interestingly, no mention is made in the report of the steady encroachment of Himalayan Balsam around the wettest part of the NE margin but an ACA volunteer team has recently uprooted many of the plants, prior to flowering (18th July 2010).
