This is formal notice that the 2010 AGM of the ACA will be held on Wednesday 21st April at 7.00pm (for a 7.30pm start) in Aveton Gifford Parish Hall.   Click here for an Agenda  – AGM AGENDA 2010.

Copies of the 2009 AGM Minutes and 2009 Accounts will be available at the meeting.

All Committee members must retire and, if they so wish, stand for re-election at the AGM.  Our current Committee is willing to stand again, en masse, and consists of Ros Brousson (Secretary & Treasurer; AG), Peter Marsh (Bigbury), John Peters (AG), Bill Starey (AG), Stuart Watts (Chairman; Bigbury), and Eric White (AG).   As most of you will know, Wendy Bennetto was also re-elected last year and, although unwell, played an active role for much of the year.  Sadly, Wendy passed away towards the end of 2009.  During the year we co-opted Michael Cooper (Loddiswell) of the  Avon Fishing Association – as part of our effort to extend our membership and influence upstream – and he has agreed to stand for election at the AGM, nominated by the Committee.   Our Constitution specifies no maximum number of committee members and if you would like to stand you should complete the Nomination Form (click here for a form –Nomination Form 2010)   and return it to me via chairman@auneconservation.org.uk prior to the AGM.   Any new nominations must be proposed and seconded by ACA members to be valid.  Nominations from Thurlestone/Bantham would be especially welcome to achieve a more balanced geographical representation.

The Committee very much hopes you will be able to come to the AGM.  However, if this is not possible please let one of us have your views on any matters concerning the ACA and we will make sure they are raised at the meeting.

This year, the AGM will be followed by a series of brief illustrated talks by various Committee members on the current focus and work of the ACA.

We look forward to seeing you on 21st April.

Stuart Watts
